Find a Job or Negotiating Job Offer is Tough? Top 3 Not to do things......
What not to do while Negotiating a Job Offer.
Most do not remain with 1 organisation for life-time.
This is in interest of the individual and also organisation.
If you do not plan to move after 5 years or more, you are enjoying the hospitality of organisation and soon becoming complacent.
You are soon not contributing to self nor to organisation.
So it is obvious the smart and sensible explore opportunities, after a size able period of give and take with organisation is complete.
In fact in my experience and few senior mentors of mine, for self growth and learning we should explore before we become big frog in a small pond.
Well finding a job is much simpler than negotiating the job offer.
Here are few NOT TO DO Things while negotiating Job Offer.
1. Do not discuss and invest time if you are not keen to join the Organisation. If the Job Offer becomes tempting you may land in confused state of mind to join or not join, due to the offer.
2. Do not accept everything at first glance. Organisation has selected you means they like you and need you as much you need to join.
3. Do not go with rigid mind for discussion, rigid mind closes all options for further discussion and exploring avenues of interest.
4. Do not look for win-lose parameters, be creative to look at win-win options if you are serious to make it happen. Only thinking of self will lead to dead-end.
5. Do not read and focus on only short-term gains or benefits, study, research and query for clarity, future prospects and benefits.
6. Do not compare with current and past features and benefits only, they were in different time and role. Be flexible to be updated with current experience, market conditions organisation growth prospects, self learning and development path.
Last but not the least, propose Options and your interests with win-win approach which they cant refuse...after all you would not be discussing offer.....if they were not keen about you.
